Senior Backend Engineer

We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer with 5+ years of experience to design and build the APIs, data layers, and distributed services behind our client products. You will own architecture decisions, review code, and mentor junior developers while staying hands-on. Tech stack: TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, Express.js, Go, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Kafka / RabbitMQ, gRPC, GraphQL, Elasticsearch, Prisma, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS.

What You Will Do

  • Design and build scalable, secure backend systems, APIs, and microservices
  • Own database design, migrations, and query performance
  • Make architecture and technology decisions for client projects
  • Review code, enforce standards, and mentor junior developers
  • Break requirements into tasks and give realistic delivery estimates
  • Design event-driven workflows with queues and message brokers
  • Integrate payment gateways, email, SMS, and other third-party services
  • Write automated tests and maintain code quality
  • Investigate and fix production issues, performance problems, and security gaps
  • Document APIs, architecture, and technical decisions

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional backend development experience
  • Expert-level TypeScript and Node.js (NestJS and Express.js)
  • Production experience with Go (or Rust) for performance-critical services
  • Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL and MySQL (schema design, indexing, query optimization, transactions, replication)
  • Proven experience designing REST and GraphQL APIs, plus gRPC for internal services
  • Experience designing microservices and event-driven systems using Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • Experience with caching and queues (Redis, BullMQ) and search (Elasticsearch or OpenSearch)
  • Strong experience with authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth2, SSO, RBAC)
  • Experience integrating payment gateways (bKash, Nagad, SSLCommerz, Stripe) and other third-party services
  • Strong grasp of system design, scalability, high availability, and API security (OWASP)
  • Experience writing unit, integration, and load tests
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes basics, CI/CD, and cloud deployment (AWS)
  • Experience with observability: structured logging, metrics, and tracing (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Experience leading projects, doing code reviews, and mentoring junior developers
  • Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to clients and teammates in English
  • Bonus: Multi-tenant SaaS architecture experience
